DTF transfers with your own design

With a DTF transfer you put your logo, text or image on clothing and textiles yourself. Your design is printed in full colour on a transfer film with an adhesive layer on the back. You then apply it with a heat press to a T-shirt, hoodie, bag, workwear or sports shirt. Ideal for garment decorators, clubs, brands and anyone who wants to personalise clothing in small quantities.

Three types

• Standard: for cotton, polyester and most garments. Available as an 8.5 x 8.5 cm chest logo and on an A4, A3 or A2 sheet.
• Premium, 8 colours: printed with 8 instead of 4 colours. Even richer colours, finer details and deeper blacks. On A3 or A2.
• Softshell and sports polyester: with an extra blocking layer, so the colour of dyed polyester or softshell does not bleed into your design. On A3 or A2.

Several logos on one sheet

A sheet is a piece of transfer film in the chosen size. You may place several designs on it, for example ten chest logos on an A3, with at least 1 cm of space between them. After delivery you cut them apart yourself. That keeps your price per logo extra low.

How to apply the transfer

1. Set the press according to the list below.
2. Lay the garment flat on the press and pre-press it for 2 to 3 seconds so it is smooth and dry.
3. Place the transfer printed side down on the fabric. Heat resistant tape keeps it in place.
4. Press with the time and pressure from the list.
5. Peel the film while hot, straight after pressing, in one calm movement.
6. Press again for 5 seconds with a Teflon sheet or baking paper on top. This gives the best adhesion.

• Cotton T-shirt, polo, sweater: 145°C, 15 sec, 3.5 to 5 bar
• Sports shirt, thin polyester: 120°C, 10 sec, 3.5 to 5 bar
• Rainwear: 120°C, 8 sec, 3 to 5 bar
• Cap, cotton bag: 145°C, 15 sec, 3.5 to 5 bar
• Softshell (Softshell type only): 110°C, 8 sec, 3 bar

Thick fabrics sometimes need a little more heat. For technical fabrics or a large run, test on one garment first.

Lifespan and washing

A properly applied DTF transfer stays soft, sharp and colourfast for a long time. Exactly how long depends on the fabric, the application and the washing, so we do not quote a fixed number of washes. This keeps the print looking good the longest:

• Wait 24 hours after applying before the first wash.
• Wash at 30°C, 40°C at most, with the garment inside out.
• Use a mild detergent without bleach or harsh additives, and a normal or delicate cycle.
• Air dry. If you must use a tumble dryer, choose the lowest temperature.
• Never iron directly on the print: iron inside out or put baking paper in between.

Specifications

• Fabrics: cotton, polyester and cotton/polyester blends, in light and dark colours. For T-shirts, sweaters, polos, bags, workwear and sportswear. Softshell only with the Softshell type.
• Colours: full colour with a white base layer. Standard prints with 4 colours (CMYK), Premium with 8 colours for even more saturated shades.
• Finest line: 0.5 mm.
• Edge: no visible border or background, only your design is transferred.
• Feel: thin and flexible, moves with the fabric.
• Certification: Standard is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified.

How to supply your design

Upload a PNG with a transparent background at 300 dpi or more at actual size, or a PDF. Anything transparent is not printed. Put several designs together in one file at the size of the sheet. We check every file before it goes into production.

Delivery time

Standard production takes 5 working days, express 2 working days (Standard only). The parcel then takes 2 to 3 working days. You pay the normal shipping costs of your country.
