Which size should you pick?
Above the sofa or bed (viewing distance 2-3 m)
Go for at least 60 × 90 cm; 80 × 120 cm truly fills a large wall.
In a hallway (viewing distance < 1.5 m)
A3 up to 30 × 40 cm is plenty; details stay visible up close.
A gallery wall with several frames
Combine 2-3 sizes and keep 5-8 cm spacing.
Outdoors (garden poster)
Bigger works better: from 80 × 120 cm, in weatherproof material.
How many pixels do you need?
For razor-sharp print work, use 300 DPI. For posters and canvas viewed from a metre or more, 150 DPI is plenty. Below 100 DPI a photo turns visibly soft. Not sure about your photo? Use our free DPI checker.
What is bleed?
Bleed is an extra 3 mm border around your design that is trimmed off after printing. Let your background run slightly past the final size and keep text at least 5 mm from the edge.
Portrait or landscape?
Portraits usually work vertically; landscapes and skylines horizontally. Square is great for Instagram shots. Every size above can be ordered in both orientations.
