Choosing a product

Dibond, forex or acrylic: which one do I pick?

Forex is light and affordable for indoors, dibond is rigid and weatherproof for outdoors, acrylic gives photos depth and gloss.

Comparison of board, paper and banner materials for different uses

Three panel materials that look alike in a photo but feel completely different in the hand.

Forex

A light PVC foam board. Affordable, easy to hang and great for presentations, indoor signage and temporary boards. It survives outdoors for a while, but a large panel can bow slightly in heat.

Pick forex when it needs to be light, temporary or budget-friendly.

Dibond

Two thin aluminium layers around a plastic core. Rigid, flat and weatherproof; this is the material for facade signs, outdoor advertising and anything that has to stay straight for years. Heavier and pricier than forex.

Pick dibond for outdoors, large sizes and work that has to last.

Acrylic

Your photo behind glossy acrylic glass. Colours gain depth and the panel reads like gallery work. The premium choice for indoor wall decoration; it is not meant for outdoor advertising.

In short

  • Indoors and temporary: forex
  • Outdoors and permanent: dibond
  • Photo as the centrepiece indoors: acrylic
