A floating frame for your canvas

A canvas without a frame looks modern, but a floating frame instantly gives it a richer, finished look. This black wooden floating frame places your canvas in a narrow, deep surround. A small open gap remains between the edge of the canvas and the frame, so the canvas seems to float inside it. That shadow gap adds depth and shows off the sides of your canvas without covering any part of your image. The whole picture stays visible, right up to the edge.

The frame is made of wood with a black finish. The grain stays visible, so the frame looks natural and warm rather than plastic. The profile is 34 mm. Black suits almost any interior: on a light wall it adds contrast, on a dark wall it creates a calm, stylish whole. It works well with black and white photos, colourful art, portraits and landscapes.

Which size should you choose?

The frame comes in five sizes: 60 x 40, 70 x 50, 90 x 60, 100 x 75 and 150 x 100 cm. Each frame can be used in landscape or portrait. Choose the size that matches your canvas, and measure your canvas to be sure, because the frame needs to fit exactly. The frame is made for a canvas stretched over an 18 mm deep stretcher frame. If your stretcher frame is thicker or thinner, the canvas will not sit properly in the frame. Not sure about the size or the depth of your stretcher frame? Supplied assembled, canvas not included

Your floating frame arrives assembled. The corners are already joined, so there is nothing to put together yourself. The canvas itself is not included: this frame is meant for a canvas you already have or order separately. Would you like a canvas with your own photo delivered in a floating frame straight away? Who is this frame for?

Care

A floating frame needs very little care. Wipe it now and then with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use water or cleaning products on the wood. Preferably do not hang your canvas in full sun or in a damp room, so that both frame and canvas stay beautiful for longer.
