Matte, gloss, uncoated, rigid or foldable: match the material to its use.

Paper weight is mass per square metre, not stiffness on its own. Uncoated stock feels natural and is often writable. Matte coated stock offers a calm professional image; gloss makes photographs vivid but can reflect. A protective layer may improve scratch or moisture resistance depending on the option. Folded work needs a suitable stock and crease. For a critical large run, order a sample first where available.
