Your own stencil, ready to use again and again

A custom stencil lets you put your logo, text or image onto almost any surface quickly and cleanly. We cut the stencil from flexible plastic film, exactly to your design. Position it, apply spray paint, paint or chalk, lift it off and your design is there. Handy for shops, cafes and restaurants, business premises, events, schools and creative projects at home.

Choosing the right size

The size is the outer dimension of the stencil, from 100 x 100 mm to 600 x 400 mm. Leave at least 10 mm free around your design so the stencil stays strong and you do not spray past the edge. A long line of text fits nicely on 600 x 100 or 600 x 200 mm, a logo usually on a square format.

Supplying your design: remember the bridges

In a stencil the open areas are cut out. Loose inner pieces, known as islands, would simply fall out. Think of the centre of letters and digits such as O, A, B, D, P, R, 0, 4, 6, 8 and 9. That is why these characters need bridges: narrow connections that hold the inner piece to the rest. A stencil font already has these bridges. If you use your own logo, add bridges yourself. Use clear shapes without very thin lines, and supply a vector file (PDF, SVG or AI) if you can.

Tips for a crisp result

• Make sure the surface is clean and dry
• Fix the stencil with painter's tape or a light spray adhesive
• Spray in a few thin coats, straight from above, rather than one heavy coat
• With paint, use a dry brush or roller and dab, so nothing runs under the edge
• Lift the stencil carefully and clean it straight away
