The right pad for your hand stamp

A wooden, acrylic or rubber hand stamp has no ink of its own. You tap it on an ink pad and then press it onto your paper. A good pad gives an even, crisp impression without smudges. Choose from three standard sizes, a quick drying pad for smooth surfaces and a metallic pad for a festive touch.

Why you will like it

  • Three sizes, so your whole stamp is inked in one go
  • Ink in black, blue, red, green or violet
  • Quick drying pad for plastic, glass, metal and coated card
  • Metallic pad in gold, silver or copper, lovely on dark paper and kraft board
  • A lid that protects the pad from drying out

Which pad should you choose?

Pick a pad that is slightly larger than the printing surface of your stamp. That way you can set the stamp down flat and the whole text or logo picks up ink.

  • 9 x 5 cm: for small stamps, such as a logo or name stamp up to about business card size
  • 11 x 7 cm: the handy mid size for most address and logo stamps
  • 16 x 9 cm: for large and long stamps
  • Smooth surfaces, 7.5 x 4.5 cm: quick drying ink that adheres to plastic, glass, metal and coated card
  • Metallic, 7.5 x 4.5 cm: gold, silver or copper for cards, labels and packaging

The ink colours gold, silver and copper belong to the metallic pad.

Which stamps does it suit?

The pad is made for hand stamps without built in ink: wooden stamps, acrylic stamps and rubber stamps. A self inking stamp, such as a Colop Printer or Trodat Printy, already has a built in pad. For those, order a replacement ink pad or refill ink instead.

Tips for use

Tap your stamp lightly on the pad a few times rather than pressing hard. Then press the stamp straight onto the paper without rocking it. Close the lid after use so the pad stays moist for longer. When your impressions get lighter, re-ink the pad with stamp pad ink in the same colour. Only re-ink the quick drying pad with the matching quick drying ink. Wipe your stamp clean with a damp cloth after use.
